I was cleaning my room and I’ve found a lot of books, it’s like school books and a lot of papers.
I have a ton of books that I didn’t use it anymore. Most of them (books) still in a very good condition.

How do you get rid of it? Just throw it away or is there a shop that I can sell old stuffs?

  1. Well you could look online if there is any demand for it. Maybe you could donate them or else just paper trash.

  2. Kleinanzeigen or Momox ,

you can also get money for large amounts of paper but what you posted is not worth the effort bc you’d get a few cents at most.

  3. There’s several ways to get rid of old books but for school books in particular, the best option is to leave a note with your number and a list of the titles at a language school/VHS/whoever offers German courses that you want to sell/gift those books. You could also ask in language learner forums if someone is interested (check with the moderators if it’s okay). If nobody calls or you only get rid of a few of them, the next step would be to leave them at next Sperrmüll. Sometimes people grab a few books they wouldn’t pay for otherwise.

Another place for books in general would be Bücherschränke if your city offers these, but they are mostly for novels, and since your books have a rather narrow audience they might just clutter them up. Used books stores probably won’t take them, so if you desperately want to make a buck you need to wait for Flohmarkt season and put up a stand. Last but not least if you want to get rid of them now, bring them to a Wertstoffhof.

  4. Most will be just good enough to put in a box labeled “zu verschenken”. If there are especially valuable books you might find something online but they’ll pay a dime and ask for a dollar, or you can use ebay.

  5. Maybe you can sell them, or return them to schools, kinda like pfand with you dont really get paid

  6. check for the next “stadtbücherei”. Donate them there.
Most of these libraries are short on money and happy for any donation, especially in this perfect conditions.

  7. Sell it online to the webpages, there plenty that you can use by making a picture of each or scann the qr code. Then they tell you how much they pay. If your fine get a big box and send it to them. They recheck the stuff for missing parts and so on. Once confirmed you get the offered money.

If you go that road make sure to check different services and select the best offering service.

    Else just trash bin.

  8. Depending on the size of the city you live in, you could check with the local library or university if they’d want them.

  9. * Put them on Kleinanzeigen for free, maybe someone needs them. I had poor families picking them up if they needed to buy those books instead for school. You can also try to sell them on eBay or Kleinanzeigen for a few euros, but demand is usually next to zero in that case.
    * There are sometimes “Freie Bücherei” oder “Büchertreffe” you could donate to them.
    * You could put them in a book stand, which you sometimes find on the street. But those are usually for story books.
    * Donate to a library if they take them.
