We’re looking for a couple dedicated friends of Ukraine.

**Who should apply?**
We’re recruiting for **love of Ukraine**, **willingness to take direction**, and **dedication to good moderation** more than any other factors.
Due to the unique situation we find ourselves in, candidate mods will be subject to vetting including voice verification/interview. Trainees will begin with zero permissions, to be slowly added as they grow into the role, become comfortable, and build trust with the team. All moderators will complete Mod Certification 101 and 201 courses and will be provided with materials and resources that outline best practices specific to r/Ukraine that will help them get up to speed. You can grow at your own pace.
**Requirements:**
* Willingness to provide (non-personally-identifiable) verification of country of residence, origin and voice verification.
* A healthy amount of free time to dedicate specifically to r/Ukraine.
* Willingness to take direction while learning about *extremely* nuanced issues.
* Availability in Discord while moderating (we can walk you through this).
**Are the mods burned out / has there been a Reddit Moderator Exodus™?**
Nope! The same team remains passionate, present, and communicative. That said, many of us have been moderating all day and all night for years at this point and we’re simply looking to expand the team (slowly, steadily, healthily) so we can free up some time to work on more initiatives (like AMAs) in 2024.
**What if I don’t have a personal or family connection to Ukraine?**
A connection to Ukraine is of course a plus, but not having it will not affect your candidacy at all. A broad variety of time zones, backgrounds, and skills are all valuable.
