The woman is in emergency accommodation following what reads as a vicious assault on front of traumatised children whilst the alleged assailant is caring for the children at the family home still?
That’s terrifying if the case and should be a supervised situation at the very minimum.
It abhors me how many shit people become parents. Christmas is a terrifying time for many children across the country.
Domestic violence really needs to be dealt with better and with more support for victims. It’s a crime against an entire household where people and children in particular should feel the safest.
Why does he get to beat up the mother and mind the children. He should be dragged out by the hair by a handful of gardai and sleep in Mountjoy until his case comes up. People like this woman get killed eventually unless the State intervenes accordingly.

And should that safety plan not include the removal of the children from the care of this violent maniac?? It’s not enough to say there is a plan; drastic action must be taken to protect the child. No child should EVER be in the care of a parent who assaulted the other parent.
I think the ‘Child and Family Agency’ needs to put a lot more emphasis on ‘Child’ and a little less on ‘Family’ in these circumstances.
