What a load of bs. Fuck BBC anyway, that’s the new trend on p***hub
Buy them a HD box from power city
I noticed the EPG on my LG telly doesn’t show anything for HD channels but does for SD channels (BBC/UTV/C4/etc). Sometimes out of the blue it’ll appear for what’s on now but it’s a rare exception.
I don’t get it. How can one of them ‘sat & soarview ready’ things work and not the TV itself when it can do HD soarview AND see BBC SD etc.
I’ve returned it loads on the lead up to this but don’t see hd bbc in the list. Is there some other satellite or something.?
To be honest I haven’t watched live tv for about 10 months until I flicked round on New Year’s Eve for countdown.
If live tv disappeared I wouldn’t even notice
The second TV in my parents place has had an extremely old Sky box hooked up to it using the old dish for years and have been getting this message for months now too. It’s not capable of HD (still has SCART at the back) so if I just get any of the Satellite boxes it’ll work right? Just put the same cable into that unit rather than the Sky box
With LG TVs if you plug the satellite feed into the back of the box and set your region to UK and with a UK postcode, the epg will default to the Freesat EPG with the 8 day programme guide and it should retune itself whenever channels are updated.
It messes up the Saorview/terrestrial part, you can still view the Irish channels but you’ll have to manually move them around because they’ll be assigned random positions in the TV guide.
It’s a cheaper option to plug straight into the tv but I prefer to use a Freesat recording box and just use the aerial for Rte.
Problem I have is old people can’t figure out how to switch from Irish to UK channels and back so for my in-laws I did the same set up as mine, but told them they can have one or the other, UK only or Irish only. I installed a Freesat receiver for them and told them they have UK only in their sitting room and Irish only on another tv in the house.
Any other set up, including combo boxes, and they ended up losing everything on their tv by pressing every button on the remote.

“an HD” 🤮
Even the brits dropping the h sound now?
Theyre watching BBC SD, flick over to the HD channel. It might need re tuning but that TV would definitely have it.
I’ve had an older one of these since Moses was in short pants. It’ll do Irish and satellite stations.
