  1. Russia knew that all of those missiles wouldn’t hit their target. All you need though is for 4 or 5 to get through, that is the Russian message here. Yeah you got good air defense, but can it stop all 100.

Russia is going to hit Ukraines infrastructure hard this winter, they need more air defenses. I hope congress gives them more and before it’s too late like last year.

  2. The more Russia hits highrise buildings, killing civilians, the more the west is encouraged to keep sending more aid to Ukraine.
    Putin defeats Putin.

  3. 72% interception rate is really good; which means Russia can only afford to launch massive salvos to get even a few through. I bet their build rate is much lower than Ukraine’s AD resupply

  4. it doesn’t matter to them. It’s only for propaganda, to show they shoot massive barrages and “NATO weapons” can’t take all of them down.

However it’s obvious this has the opposite effect they think: it rallies Ukrainians to resist, and guarantees renewed support from US/EU.

  5. This is all because puffy stunty in the Kremlin was wangry, waaaa 😭.

  6. “Costly Misfire” should be Putin’s nickname, because it describes his entire life.

  7. Повага 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇺🇳💙💛🇪🇺🇺🇦🌻Respect my friends in Ukraine. Stay safe and know that one day the bastard in moscow, and all his ruzzian low lives. Will be gone from your lands forever, and your own folk and kindred returned.

  8. The YouTube channel ‘Combat Veteran Reacts’ had a good back of napkin calculation. The replacement cost of this wave of missiles vs the entire Russian yearly military budget (prob pre-war budget).

Rough numbers: 2 – 3% of their budget spent on a single missile wave. All to provide food for Gepard and Patriots, and to kill a handful of civilians.

Russia is running out of ways to look scary.

  9. It’s not a costly mis-fire it’s an act of desperation. Their military is in tatters and they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel.

  10. What doesn’t make sense to me is… why wouldn’t Russia attempt to use these against Ukrainian Military assets over civilians? Is it not in their best interest to kill as many Ukrainian combatants first? If they are really short on missiles that would indicate incredibly erratic behavior from Russian Command/Putin

  11. And, since none of the targets were of military importance, the whole exercise served no tactical or strategic value whatsoever.

  12. The article states on Dec. 28th they intercepted 72 out of 158 missiles and the 2nd they intercepted 72 out of 99 missiles. Is that accurate?

  13. Yeh the more they attack civilians the more the West is united to stop Russia
