Hello! I hope this post is okay.
My Danish grandma followed the Nordic religion and I grew up on stories about Nordic mythology. She told me stories about a horse creature, which I cannot recall the name of and I am going mad trying to remember it. Does anyone know what this creature is called?
It is a creature related to the nithing pole ritual (wikipedia – [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nithing_pole](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nithing_pole)).
The creature itself is a human with a horse head and hooves instead of hands. It was supposedly quite scary to look at. It looks kinda like this – [https://www.deviantart.com/iagal/art/Nordic-828417252](https://www.deviantart.com/iagal/art/Nordic-828417252) (I asked the profile about the picture but I never got a response).
I thought the name of the creature was either “niddjór” or “nidkiær”, but I see no results for these on google.
Does anyone know the name of this creature? I asked in the danish subreddit, but I want to ask here too.

Never heard of a horse relating to the nithing pole but maybe youre thinking of the Nykur (Nøkken in danish)
Nuckelavee? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuckelavee
