The attitude of society towards religions makes me laugh. Like: well, let them believe in their imaginary friends. They collect money from sheep for the construction of new temples. But as soon as someone says that their imaginary friend spoke to them, even their brothers in faith become uncomfortable and begin to wonder if everything is okay with the guy.
I wonder if the message was lost in translation? This isn’t something a Muslim, let alone a cleric would ever say really.

Iranian media reported that he told followers that they must “obey him” as the “representative of the Prophet Muhammad and [Shi’ism’s] 12th Imam on Earth.” Ayatollah Khamenei rules Iran under the Wilayat al Faqih principle, which gives him broad powers to represent Shi’ism’s Hidden or 12th Imam.
Shias who follow the extremist Wilayat al Faqih concept would accept this, as the designation of the Supreme Leader of Iran. He is the ‘deputy of the hidden Imam until his return, to lead humanity’, quote unquote, ‘into redemption and salvation.’ for a number of Shias no one can claim to represent the Prophet and the Imams on Earth, let alone speak God’s words.
Either way he is claiming god given legitimacy to rule the entire world as a direct consequence. No matter how dislikeable other extremists televangelists etc he takes the biscuit and is all the more dangerous for it.
God spoke to me.
He told me to say that God did not speak through this guy.
That’s the last thing you want to hear from someone with an entire country under their supreme command. This can get very ugly
