  1. Yet.

“At this time” is a thinly veiled way of saying we’re not doing it yet but we will

  2. Cool. I was worried for about a minute when they announced this.

  3. We might be part of an experiment to see how this change affects users. Give advertising to UK users and keep it ad-free in the most similar market (us), then compare the results.

  4. It’s probably because of lack of targeted advertising library. A lot of UK ads are actually specific enough that they don’t really have any relevance to the islands, which tend to run a lot of local business ads instead. Similar to how a bunch of the more popular channels on Sky have completely separate advertising blocks just for us RoI subscribers.

  5. As soon as all these streaming services start showing ads I’ll be going back to dodgy box/app streaming, no problem paying for the likes of Disney and prime etc, I actually have subs for every streaming app, but I’m not paying for something then have to sit through ads too, fuck that

  6. Ive cancelled all streaming platforms and have just gone back to pirating everything 👍

  7. We’re not getting ads, or we’re not getting the content? It’s usually the latter in my experience.

  8. Some positive news given we dont get proper services.
