Yeah that’s just incorrect, [wp article](https://wiadomosci.wp.pl/wspomnienia-radoslawa-sikorskiego-z-afganistanu-bral-udzial-w-bitwie-mudzahedinow-6673168979393184a) and numerous other sources cite his words that he was a correspondent there, travelling with the mujaheddin. Not unlikely that he held a rifle, but he didn’t fight, he just reported.
