  1. Another park named after a poncy monarch who happened to be born out of the right vagina, god name it after one of distinguished scientists, poets, engineers or something. Not after some royal bint who sat on a golden chair with a stolen diamond on her head pontificating about austerity.

  2. >So, when could all this become reality? Well, the disused nursery’s greenhouses will need to be demolished before any work can begin on the garden. Construction is expected to begin later this year, with the park intended to be complete by 2026 – which would’ve been the year of the late Queen’s 100th birthday.

So 2033, and seven hundred million pounds over budget, none of which can be accounted for.

  3. Can’t think of a better way to spend tax payers money /s

  4. What a lovely idea, looking forward to it being completed

  5. Another good reason for a visit to the Capital. Thanks for the heads-up OP.

  6. Anything that promotes wildlife, parks and gardens I’m behind! Great idea!

  7. Should build a new pub to go with the garden! The west end parks don’t have a pub between them and a proper pub in the middle of Regents would be great way to toast her memory. It could even be a charitable venture, giving rough kids a second chance or something.

  8. We need the Elizaballoon. A giant, likely purple and gold regal styled hot air balloon tethered to the ground with an opening for a lift in the guise of the shaft of a sceptre that when lifted, and connected to the balloon forms a sceptre that can be seen for miles. Not sure of the physics just an ideas guy.

  9. Awesome! Surely… surely this makes r/London happy… right? Promotes wildlife and greenery.

  10. I hope they keep ‘Greening’ more and more of London. Just keep making it more and more like a forest with houses and roads intermingled.

Imagine in a 100 years and it’s like this huge mega city set in a huge park, going vertical and horizontal.

Like something out of a Sci-fi film.
