This is old. Happened back in Sept 2023 I believe.
**A total of 230 soldiers returned to Ukraine. These are defenders of the city of Mariupol, Snake Island… There are defenders who were at the Azovstal plant. These are soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, DPSU, National Guard, territorial defense…**
They all look malnourished and likely tortured. Id be more shocked if they didnt.
I hope in russia’s desperation for more meatbags, they start to do more transfers. Since the transfers are so lopsided. I fear there arent too many Ukrain PoWs russia can return, as most are dead or will implicate them in even more warcrimes due to the torture.
Btw, can anyone enlighten me on what status you have as former POW?
Do you have to get back to duty right away ( doubt it )?
Do you get some time off to get back to health and then back to duty?
Or does your service end as long as you dont go back as volunteer?

I wonder what happens if you become a POW again, guess this makes your chances to get exchanged one more time pretty slim?
How many russians were exchanged?
248 russian POW for 230 Ukrainians.
Boys look like they have been starved, but at least they are back home for now.
Get these men a hot meal and stiff drink. Welcome home!
I thought Russia wasn’t doing any more prisoner exchanges, because they don’t want to trade skilled Ukrainian soldiers for some poor conscripted or tricked minority who probably surrendered to avoid being sacrificed for Putin…
Heroyam slava!
I’m surprised Russia is conducting exchanges again, they seemed to have a number of reasons for halting them. I don’t understand why they would suddenly want to return Ukrainian POWs just to get their meat-shields back.
Good news today 👍
I’m glad this is happening again.
Damn they look hungry. Get them healthy and hopefully some become trainers and teachers for the armies
About time!
I know a week or two ago, Ukraine publicly released a list of 200 POW that it wanted to exchange, so I wonder if that extra pressure helped push the russians into finally allowing an exchange. I bet some of the families who found their sons and husbands on the list started to demand more.
Great that UA got so many back! And I hope this will result in more in the future.
Finally!
Lovely to see them finally home.
God Bless you all! Welcome Home!! Slava Ukraini!! ❤️🇺🇦💪🥰
Dude with his arms crossed isn’t having any of it.
