With Starmer now taking a clear break from the disgraced Corbyn era and pulling ahead in the polls, it is now or never for the Corbynites to stop Labour from succeeding. Otherwise the hard left will never have any future within the Labour Party as anti-Semitic members continue to be expelled.
However this raises a big question for the likes of John McDonnell who has said Momentum/Corbynites must stay in the Labour Party to ever have any chance of implementing left wing policies. Will the SCG throw away their careers and cushy jobs is another question. If they leave the Party they’ll have zero chance of being re-elected and would hand total power to Keir Starmer.
Lol Keir fucked himself with the way he handled this matter, doubled down so we can have 5 more years of Boris thereby fucking the country too. 0 chance Labour wins a majority if this party fields candidates in any reasonable number of seats
That carefully couched headline suggesting it was anti-Semitism and not just that Corbyn was part of the it gang that led to him having his whip removed.
> If the party is established, it could tempt the defection of Left-wing MPs who are disaffected with the leadership of Sir Keir Starmer, and could take the name of the Peace and Justice Project, which Mr Corbyn established to coordinate his political activities after he was suspended from Labour.
I’m glad it’s just *’could take the name’* because the Peace and Justice party is a shit name. I won’t link it but there’s a small Change.org petition to [create and name the party that.](https://c.tenor.com/5c4jBkChMIIAAAAd/dave-chappelle-you-disgust-me.gif)
I’m all for splitting Labour down ideological lines but Peace and Justice Project is a **SHIT** name.
This is the daily mail so it could be a total pack of lies, so take the article with a mountain of salt.
But if true, being an outside threat to split votes in a FPTP system and force your agenda as an outside party with no hope of actually winning is what UKIP/BXP were about, they never won, never could, but they pulled the larger party towards their aims and threatened very slim Tory majorities going to their opponents, very effective at manipulating the Tories, as such a left wing party could be at manipulating Labour.
eg: “Adopt £15ph minimum wage as a policy or we will stand candidates against you in these bunch of seats”
Hes one MP who might keep his seat as an independent or for a vanity party. But I can’t see him doing it.
Here’s a plan. Bury the hatchet, co-operate despite your differences, go all out to win the next election at all costs.
Then introduce PR.
Then you can split into all the factions you like without risking a Tory majority.
A whole Tory news article on a complete hypothetical.
If you’re going to the Daily Mail for positions on something The Telegraph (CCHQ) came up with: you’re doing it wrong.
Seriously, search through both for the basis on which this article is written and you’ll see the problem. Maybe Corbyn is considering setting up a left wing party but neither of these articles has any supporting evidence as far as that story and simply exists to froth up the already foaming Conservative tabloid voter.
UK is a 2.5 party state (dependant on whether the Lib Dems are on form or not).
That is the truth of it.
If people want to vote for Corbyn’s new cult ahead of actual opposition, then I’m sorry it just proves that they’d rather look progressive and tolerant than actually get the Tories out.
