You have it all wrong. When the cannon runs out of ammo the barrel goes into spear mode and runs the enemy through. Good design…..

Well that’s a yikes to see the barrel to project off the cannon, I’m going to take a guess an say either the barrel finally wore out or the gasses caused an explosion in the cannon an saw the barrel shot off.
