Labour’s poll lead could still collapse, shadow ministers warned

  1. It’s true that polls may tighten in the run-up to the election, but I think *collapse* is a tad dramatic. Unless Starmer kills a hundred puppies or something, the Labour lead is most likely here to stay.

For 2 years now, they have had a consistent lead, largely in the double digits, and people are getting more and more sick of the tories with each passing day (finally).

  2. Doubt. This will just be trying to manage expectations and to make sure people actually go and vote.

  3. Maintain the iron discipline of offering absolutely fuck all while just barking “CHANGE. REAL CHANGE” at terrified and weary voters.

  4. Its a shit place to be in in this Country. Tories are useless, Labour are useless but the only party that can win against the Tories.

  5. I mean, possibly. The Tory election media machine hasn’t really gotten started yet, so who knows what they’ll come up with and how things might change come election time.

  6. Well the only reason they are ahead is because people hate tories not because they like labour, starmer is a gimp

  7. So Starmer gets in, what actually changes? You’ll still have strikes in the public sector that he won’t fix. You’ll still have the private sector shrinking due to collapsing services and infrastructure that he won’t fix. You’ll still be hobbled to American foreign policy isolating Europe from the rest of the world which he absolutely won’t fix. You’ll have conservative media ramming him with culture war schticks. He seems like a man built to the specification of The Guardian deputy political editor who thinks he’sin touch with the working class hero cause he worked in a spoons for a bit.

I have never heard a convincing political argument for Starmer beyond ‘get the tories out’ from liberals who really only consume politics as content. How do I square the circle that this economic crisis is gonna be solved by a guy who believes in the same economics as the tories? How am I supposed to get behind a dude that The Sun at any point can say, with merit, he helped get Saville off and his main advisor is a pedophile?

  8. Just a thought but I wonder if he’s considered having policies that makes people want to vote for him.

It’s a crazy idea but it might just work.

  9. Labour’s entire campaign collapses in Scotland

When someone has to stand on a stage and deny they will cut tuition frees/privatise most services/allow MATs into education/enforce cuts that would make Osborne blush not to mention explain how Brexit is actually a good thing and how they will make it work

Them and their usual wank posters from here fall into the lazy right wing trope that is so easy to break

Complain everything is rubbish and how you could do it so much better – but never actually offer any detail on…..well anything tbh 🤷‍♂️👍🇬🇧🤦

  10. It won’t. If it makes you feel warm and fuzzy in the delusion that the SNP will sweep Scotland when no sensible pollster even comes close to that, you do you.

  11. I mean, I’ve literally never seen someone try harder to lose an election so…wouldn’t surprise me….
