Third, it’s not a joke about the IRA considering it doesn’t mention or reference them in any way, shape or form.
An IRA joke (even if very basic) would be something like did you hear Seamus tried to blow up a car in Belfast last night? Burnt his lips on the exhaust.
This ‘joke’ actually happened. Christopher Hitchins had this discussion whilst crossing the border from the north to the south.
