  1. We love France, it’s the French we hate.
    /jk

    “Qui aime bien chatouille bien”.

  2. I disagree on your statement (Romands hate us)

We have our amount of stupid, like any country. Doesn’t mean that everybody else think the same.

People have issue in poor area, usually near the frontier, where selfish CEO prefer to hire French people for a lesser salary than hiring Swiss people to do the job with a salary that allow a decent living. But most are aware that’s the fault of the CEO, not the French workers.

Also, you need to take in account, that for a long time and may still be the case, anyone from the next valley was seen as a ‘stranger’.

If we go on generalization, you could say that Swiss-French citizen hate Swiss-German citizen more than French people. Which again, is not true for everyone.

  3. Cost of living maybe? Especially the cost of having kids. As an expat, this is the single biggest problem for me with living here and trying to start a family. Having kids is a luxury.

  4. I am from the german speaking Swiss part and also do not like France (sorry). It‘s because of two things: I do not like the french kitchen and as a person who speaks only german and english it‘s a pain in the a* to go to France. Some do not speak english, that‘s okay. But some could speak english but refuse to and got angry because tourists do not speak french. It is so annoying.

  5. Its likely that france got the most votes as a single country from the swiss. I would expect around 10% – 20%. The other votes were too spread out, so france got the W.

  6. I love France! Of course there is always something that one would like to change but generally I made only the best memories in France. My French is terrible but thst‘s something people in France can be annoyed about🤣🤣

  7. I´ll stick to what George Patton said about the french and the germans, but ultimately I´ll remain in switzerland and stay neutral. :p

  8. That’s just a random map with no context. Is there info how exactly they got this data? I doubt german speaking part would choose France to move.

  9. “Had to leave” is the key phrase here. I think most Swiss would opt to stay in Switzerland.

  10. france is arguably the most beautiful and diverse country in landscapes. the people however…..

source: lived 5 years in france and the rest of my life on the border

  11. I saw this map on another sub. No one was able to provide a source for the data. I am pretty sure this is an argumentum ex culo.

  12. >but why tho? Romands hates us.

Romands hate french. Ticinesi hate italians. Swiss-germans hate germany. This is why we have switzerland.
But hey, secretly we all know that we love our fellow neighbors🤫

  13. Interesting that you repost this map from a sub where everybody pointed out at its lack of reliability given that there is no source at all

  14. Always say that we (Romands) love to hate the French but certainly not France itself.
I lived in the swiss german part for some time and what struck me is how you could still feel the “swissness” despite cultural differences (food… and language mainly), it’s in small details that you can tell it’s the same country with, to some extent, the same people.
I know most Romands would disagree but I’m on team “Romandie is defined by negatives” as in “we are not French, and we are not swiss german”.
I’ll mention that France wouldn’t be my first pick, but in Europe it would probably be in top 2 or 3

  15. The german speaking side is probably split between Germany and Austria making the french speaking side voting for France the plurality

  16. Infinite loop warning with Switzerland and France. Do not proceed otherwise you will be constantly moving.

  17. For me the landscapes of france are the best in europe. North sea, mexiterranean, alps

  18. I think this is about elsass french where a lot of swiss peoples move because you can buy a big house for a third of the price in switzerland. Furthermoore you can shop groceries in germany for half the price than in switzerland and work in switzerland for full swiss wage.

  19. Best things in Switzerland we’re brought to us by the french:
The end of feudalism for example.

  20. I (Swiss-German) spent most of my holidays in France when I was young. And it would be my emigration destination alongside northern Germany, if I had to emigrate. Once you have overcome the language barrier, France is a culturally and scenically exciting country. It has pretty much everything from mountains to sunny beaches and, if you add the colonies, even tropical areas.

In terms of culture, France is a powerhouse.

Be it literature, cinema or theatre.

It is also a country of law, something that Europeans often don’t appreciate enough.

The only thing I don’t like as a Swiss is the centralisation to Paris. As well as the political system.

  21. Probably difficult to choose from when all your neighbors wants to come to your country. And Swiss Germans hate the Germans but love the French, Romands hate the French but like the Germans, Ticinese hate Italians but probably have nothing against the French or Germans. So with 65% of Swiss Germans, then France… 🤷🏼‍♂️

  22. Switzer is a great country and i would love to visit somedays

  23. I’m Romand and i love french ! I Never understood why we hate french people 😅

  24. France has the rule of law and most things work, somehow. Not as well as in Switzerland, but it works nonetheless. In France the rules are clear and the same rules apply to everybody.

In Italy, not so much. I think many Swiss would opt for Italy if it weren’t so damn corrupt.

  25. Confusing data viz.

    I imagine questions like:
If u could move anywhere in the world, would u move russia?
Probably only those with russian backgrround said yes but its still more than any other country.

Probably can be read as which counrty has moat immigrants from other countries, too

  26. France is cool but i hate the language. Je ne passer compose
