Mortgage rates are plummeting. Should homebuyers jump into the market? Many forecasters predict mortgage rates will drop further. Those circumstances pose a quandary for buyers.

  1. We’ll be back to 4% around the end of the year. The Market will price it in before we get the 3rd rate adjustment. Reddit’s consensus about the pivot timing was very, very wrong, it’s wrong about rates being higher for longer, too.

    We’re not going to see 0% fed funds rate again but we’ll absolutely see 3.xx rates for 30y loans again in 2025.

    A reminder that rates went as low as 1.8% on 15y mortgages, and 2.5% on 30y loans. 3.75% in 2025 is neither unbelievable or a return to ‘ultra-low’, ultra-low was 1.25% lower than that.
