In a speech today Starmer said: “Trust in politics is now so low, so degraded, that no one believes you can make a difference any more.”

Here are just some of the things he’s said where, if you’d trusted his word at the time, you’d have had your trust betrayed.

  1. The absolute brass of the man. He is the prime reason why trust in politics is so low.

  2. It is an absolute travesty that this man is the best the Labour party can muster to stand up to the Conservatives. They’ve been dealt a winning hand but somehow are still managing to fuck it up.

  3. It’s sad that at a time when the country desperately needs a bit of hope and something to be optimistic about, the best Labour can muster is the utterly uninspiring leadership of Captain U-turn.

  4. This video would be better if it had clips of him contradicting himself later I think

  5. It reminds me of the time I overheard a convicted murder lamenting on how society was going down the toilet

  6. It has been nearly two decades since we had politicians of substance in main UK political parties.

All we have now is media trained vanilla flavoured sound bites that say nothing “my position, my ideals, my passion” they just spent all the time sniping at each other.

I didn’t like Red Ken or Tony Benn but I knew what they stood for on issues. I don’t like Thatcher but I knew what she stood for.

Now we have polished student level politicians

  7. When was starmer in a position to follow through on any of these? He’s never been in office chap.

  8. Now THATS a man that knows how to tell you what you want to hear

  9. Are all of these from when he was not the party leader? Loses the tone and weight when the answers come from a party whip held by Corbyn. Not contradicting your party leader is kinda just the basics.

  10. Don’t get what he’s apparently lied about from any of these clips lol

  11. What about him calling Putin a war criminal after 2 days and then saying it wasn’t his place to call out the IDF for war crimes after about 3-4 weeks. Or the fact that he doesn’t even know that a woman CAN’T have a penis

  12. Sir oxymoron starmer.

Still can’t fathom how a knight of the realm and a kings council is the leader of the working man/woman socialist party.

  13. 1) McDonalds workers in strike for £15 an hour and Starmer said this should be the norm – he would stand by this.

    2) Moving to a more radical programme post-2015 was a good thing – he would stand by this.

    3) He still stands by the fact that the balancing the book asap argument is flawed.

    4) Self-ID: he seems to have gone back on this one.

    5) Yes? They did vilify him (Corbyn). Starmer still agrees with this.

    6) He still talks about his mum not wanting to go private and the importance of the NHS to him and Labour. This is consistent also.

    7) 2015-2020 were indeed very difficult times and Corbyn led the Labour Party in this period. Starmer hasn’t contradicted this either.

    8) He’s gone back on this one citing financial restraints but it’s still a pledge gone back on.

    9) He would deny that he’s being factional but factionalism is inherent within politics.

    10) He still says that we need action on climate change. This is consistent.

    11) He still supports said schemes.

    12) He doesn’t say that he’s going to introduce PR. All he says here is that the current constitution arrangements need reform, which he stands by.

    13) He is still anti-austerity and opposed to the cuts to public services post 2010.

    14) I don’t think he would reject this now although he certainly wouldn’t speak so warmly about Corbyn.

So 2 out of 14 are inconsistent.

  14. Oh no – no criticism of Dear Leader allowed!

Don’t you know he is the approved Not Tory candidate!

  15. He’s a politician. They all lie. They all betray the public’s trust. They only motivation is for themselves. Why are people always so surprised?

  16. Poor attempt, just a bunch of clips with nothing to say he’s lied.

Looking at the state of the SNP and their dodgy behaviour and dealings.. hell the tories even look cleaner 👀

  17. This is just copium. Its not about him, its about getting rid of the Tories.

Sorry, but if we have yet another year of Tory rule, the NHS, the struggling families, the economy itself will not survive.

I dont give a shit about Starmer, you dont have to. This isnt the US. Its about the party as a whole. And Labour are better than the Tories. Always have been. Not perfect, but better.

  18. You could do a similar video of any politician of any party. In any case it doesn’t make any difference, the civil service runs the show now and if they don’t like a policy or if it contravenes any of the 1000s of treaties they’ve signed us up to, in ain’t happening. Pols are just the window dressing that gives the whole charade a veneer of legitimacy.

    Everyone, just stop voting.
