>Owners of American XL bully dogs have been warned against rehoming the breed in Scotland after they were banned in England and Wales.
Under the English ban, [it’s illegal for people in England to sell, advertise, gift, exchange, or abandon their XL bullies.](https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-legal-restrictions-on-xl-bully-dog-now-in-force) IANAL, but afaics, if you’re in England, you have to keep Gnasher or put him down. The guy gathering up folks’ dugs and firing across the border with them was definitely breaking the law by helping other people exchange/sell/abandon their dogs.
That’s them told.
Aye, finger wagging and shaking the head is *really* going to make folks turn back with their loaded van of dogs isn’t it…?! /s
A stern warning aye?
But they’re not banned in Scotland.
almost as if it would’ve been a good idea to legislate against such a dangerous breed, instead of relying on empty finger-wagging after the predictable influx of them happens.
Never understood the fascination of having this type of dog.
What a complete disaster for the Scottish government. Just ban them, use the same criteria as England. All this extra thinking is a waste of time.
We’re getting hundreds of them extra in Scotland now putting us at risk because of the SNP being stubborn.
We need a similar ban to England and Wales. We are becoming the Argentina for XL bullies.
This is sadly going to turn into FAFO
Responsible dog owners don’t have to give their dogs up. They can get a licence to keep their pets.
If you have a reactive bite dog, sending it on holiday and changing its name to dug isn’t going to help much.
It won’t even be the muppets doing the transport that will get hurt. I just hope it’s not a kid
