She was also one of oldest living supporting actress nominees (from 1960).
I love her in superstar and The Ref. Also the court jester is one of my all time favorite movies.
I was just checking her imdb page last week after seeing her appearance on cheers
Damn rip glynis
Now, everyone from old Hollywood is officially dead now.
Glynis Johns played a publican who was Peter Ustinov’s love interest in an underrated movie, The Sundowners, starring Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr. It’s a quirky little film about migrant workers moving from station to station in Australia during sheep shearing season. If you can ignore Mitchum’s horrible Aussie accent, it’s an entertaining movie that Glynis adds her considerable talent to.
Not a person I expected to still be alive. Well done!
