The article has 12 paragraphs, of which 2 talk about Nazis.
Still waiting to see the Guardian to apply this standard when writing about contemporary German politics.
It is the absolute d*ck move by the coward president. Not only the castle is closed but several park entrances etc., forbidding locals to access them as they were used to for their whole lives. There is even a post office behind the security border, so you either have to pass the check or go to a different office. So it is time to lift that bs. Not mentioning that you have to walk around the castle when walking from Hradčanská instead of shortcutting through.
> Heydrich did not live in the castle because he feared it was an easy target but was travelling there in an open-topped car when he was attacked.
Reinhard the big brained
The castle is definitely not most known for Adolf Hitler spending a night here, rather that it’s the largest castle in the world and that twice in history it was seat of Holy roman emperor.
But that they’ll lower the security is definitely good. I wa sthere in december and it was full of soldiers. Not the casual guard, but fully armed soldiers with rifles. They were just fine, but I still felt like I entered military fortress, not a historical landmark.
All while the president haven’t been there for years…
> most known for Adolf Hitler spending one night there in 1939
For real? -_- Somehow I think the Prague Castle is more well-known for other things.
The guardian should shut the fuck up
Ah yes… totally not known for being the largest castle complex in the world. Or for seating 2 Holy Roman Emperors. Or being on every poscard of Prague since ever. Nope, it’s just old Adolf (may he burn in hell) spending night there.
The article talks about the plan of the minister of interior to lower the security at the Prague castle, and does not, I repeat DOES NOT, include this sentence:
> Prague Castle, most known for Adolf Hitler spending one night there in 1939
in it’s headline. This is something OP invented. The article merely devotes one paragraph talking about Heydrich, as he was the last inhabitant of the castle to get attacked (as a “factoid”). And in the recap of the castle’s history, there is one sentence, stating merely that Hitler was there for one night (again, as a “factoid”), the rest of the history DOES get indeed briefly mentioned.
That’s it. I don’t know what’s wrong with OP, that THIS of all things, causes him to get so offended.
