Some German Jews say their country goes too far defending Israel

  1. At this point, there’s wisdom in pointing that out on their side.

A lot of domestic and international policy areas got pivoted damn quick in favour of Israel and ,whatever happens in Gaza next, it’s not going to go unnoticed for years to come. In expecting and being given unconditional support, a bigger monster might have accidentally been created.

  2. At lest Germany do something, unlike some countries. Too far or too little is subjective. LOL

  3. South Africa launches case at UN court accusing Israel of genocide. Nation asks the International Court of Justice to issue provisional measures ordering a ceasefire. The first hearing in The Hague is set for 11 and 12 January. If precedent is any guide, it is possible the ICJ will issue a provisional ruling within weeks, and certainly while the Israeli attacks on Gaza are likely to be still underway.

  4. The important part here is “some” of them do. These people are propably part of a sub sekt in Judaism that believes Israel needs to be abolished due to some vague reasons.

  5. I mean some German states are requiring you to support Israel in order to naturalise as a German citizen. As a Dutch Jew, I find this appalling.
Equating Israel with Jews is anti-Semitic. Criticising Russia is not anti-Christian. Criticising China is not anti-Atheist. Criticising Saudi Arabia or Iran is not anti-Muslim. Supporting Israel’s attempt to erase the Palestinian identity is wrong. Many Israeli government officials have been clear that they want all Palestinians out of Gaza. Germany supporting Israel in killing and/or evicting millions of Muslims does not make up for Germany killing 6 million Jews.

  6. Whenever an article says “some people”, you just know they’re squeezing things out of the thin air. “Some people” in Germany also believe the earth is flat, “some people” in Germany are illiterate, I can go on.

  7. Israel has become so blatantly fascist it’s insane anyone still supports them.

  8. XD, are they supposed to let Hamas have the opportunity to attack again? This seems like when we are kids and there’s a small guy that pokes everyone but when you get pissed off and want to fight back your teachers just stop you and you just have to take it xdxdxdxd

  9. After reading some comment here: I guess that everything that is not straight black and white people wont be able to grasp it. Media will downplay it to simple good/bad guys and call it a day; people will gladly pick sides and the show will start and be very violent.

I would blame education (critical thinking is not being taught to a great extend) and media (basically propaganda machine).

  10. “some people” huh?

that number must be so sadly low that they had to skirt around it

  11. Helmut Schmidt had the most balanced views regarding Israel. His successors were basically ministers under Netenyahu und the US president

  12. OP is a 5 day old bot with 2 posts critical of Israel and 2 strange comments. Make of that what you will.

  13. it doesn’t take a genius to notice this, I understand stand germany is trying to pay reparations but it has gone way too far now.

  14. Some German Jews say their country does not go far enough defending Israel.

I mean, have we really reached that point in journalism where we write pieces based on “some” opinions.

  15. holy shit the level of tokenism going on on the left rn is fucking insane

  16. And they are right. Not only does Germany go too far to defend Israel but Germany’s approach to the war doesn’t help Jews feel safer in Germany at all.

  17. “some” is really doing a lot of leg work in this title, because that could mean almost anything.

You can literally always find people within any demographic that disagrees, because no demographic is a complete monolith, but the important question is whether or not they’re actually a significant faction.

  18. If you read the history of Zionism, you quickly find out that ordinary everyday Jewish people had no dream or intention of establishing a Jewish state in the area that is now Israel.

It was a power move started by rabbis which quickly gained support from wealthy and affluent Jews that wanted to play around with virtue signaling.

Likewise, the Jewish people living in the area before the state of Israel was established also had no intention of welcoming Western Jews into their society and have it transformed by their standards.

So it’s no surprise that ordinary Jewish people still don’t fully support the shit that’s happening there – a horrible conflict in which only politicians and their friends win.
