What was it last time, 6% for MPs… 0% for NHS (then clawed to 3%)
MPs do not need a pay rise. They’ve had multiple pay rises this past decade. They already get paid multiple times more than minimum wage and paid well above the average. They get to keep more of their pay than the average person too because they have the special expenses deal that was given to hide a pay rise years ago.
The only way to justify MPs getting a pay rise is if we remove expenses.
I’m fine with this if it’s tied to performance, something like raising people out of poverty or food bank use. This particular set of degenerates deserve a pay cut if anything.
but if they don’t get pay rises, won’t they have other interests especially they don’t earn much and need to seek out extra second or third jobs?
I wonder when we Teachers will get a pay raise that doesn’t come out of already stretched thin school budgets.

Most of these fuckers barely do any work, claim thousands on expenses or 50p stationary and pretend to care whilst figuring out a way to milk the system. Or cry about being forced to earn just 89k per year. I would be a happy man if my zero hour contract gave me £1500 per month but it does not. And I suspect, because I earnt a ton last week due to double time, christmas etc…., UC won’t give me anything and if Feburary is dead for half of the month, I’m gonna to have to really be careful.

That this stage I think we should have a form of national service where the best of our
Population should serve as a minister. You can only be called in based on your qualifications. For instance if you are in charge of transport, then you’d have to come from a logistics background like Eddie Stobart, someone who understands how transport and vehicles work. I’ve literally heard a minister say we should use bicycles and when questioned about a tradesman tools, materials etc getting about. they said use a trailer for the bike. So out of touch with the real world it’s stunning.
You can’t be education secretary and have a background in cooking, as I said above some people have no idea what their talking about.
It should be part of living in the uk. You should receive a wage, but not what these self appointed lying bastards get. It’s a patriotic duty.
I don’t trust any of them or any party at this stage, they all promise shit that is a massive I turn on day one, and there full of lies and bullshit about why.
The desire to be a politician should automatically preclude you from being one.
IPSA being an independent body obviously makes not the blindest bit of difference. They’re just as detached from reality as many of our MPs are.
Watching to see which mps virtue signal and vote against it (knowing full well they will be in the minority and receive it anyway). Fingers crossed one year they fuck up, too many go for the easy brownie points and they end up not getting a bean extra.
In all seriousness, let them have a year on whatever they deem a living wage and let the opposition control their expenses accounts, watch as Parliament devolves into the Colombian government of the early 80’s when they realise they can’t live on it at all. All those preachy fucks who think state education is adequate while sending their own to private schools outside of their boroughs for example, let’s put their kids amongst the knife ridden schools of our major cities.

Poor MPs struggle on £81k, fuck them honestly subsidised lunches, free travel, £188k staffing costs (usually a spouse or family member/s), £23k a year accommodation costs, office costs £28k and they can still do other work outside of this job. But yeah let’s give the bastards a raise.
This is very misleading as MPs salaries rise with inflation by IPSA, who are an independent standards authority, every year.
The 81k is a very misleading number. It fails to take into account that many normal outgoings from the normal persons salary are different for an MP.
Rent? Expense it

Energy bills ? Expense it
I just want to make sure that all these hard working highly paid politicians deserve more money.
