City Group’s Girona FC are looking to move for former La Masia midfielder Nico Gonzalez, who was once touted to be the heir of Sergio Busquets.
Girona are absolutely cooking both on and off the field with their absolutely phenomenal run in the league this season and brilliant sporting management of personnel. Michel (Girona’s manager) is also being considered for the list of replacements if Pep were to leave City anytime soon. He was also considered alongside other managers before Laporta made the final decision to go forward with Xavi. He’s been a brilliant coach and has managed to dismantle most of the teams in the league this season and deserves the credit for the team’s success. So I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if they bring in Nico and he ends becoming one of the best #6 in the league given how brilliant other players (even so many former La Masia players) are performing this season under Michel. Given Barca’s mediocre start to the season and average performances despite managing to secure key players (Cancelo and Felix), would you still vouch for Xavi and think he’s the man for the job next season or do you think he should be replaced and do you think Michel should be considered.
