According to SBU materials, an informant who spied on the artillery of the Armed Forces near Avdiivka will serve 12 years
Oleksandr Darovsky sniffed out data for the Russians about the directions of movement of heavy armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Avdiivka area.
This information was then sent to Mykola Blokhin, a staff member of the FSB administration in the Rostov region.
Intelligence was needed by the occupiers for planning front-line operations and targeted missile and artillery strikes against Ukrainian troops.
The SBU detained an informant during counter-subversive measures in the Donetsk region at the beginning of March 2022.
Taking into account his cooperation with the investigation, the court sentenced him to 12 years in prison.

Oleksandr Darowski węszył dla Rosjan dane o kierunkach ruchu ciężkich pojazdów opancerzonych Sił Zbrojnych Ukrainy w rejonie Awdijówki.
Informacja ta została następnie przesłana Mykoła Błochinowi, pracownikowi administracji FSB w obwodzie rostowskim.
Wywiad był potrzebny okupantom do planowania operacji na linii frontu oraz ukierunkowanych ataków rakietowych i artyleryjskich na wojska ukraińskie.
Na początku marca 2022 roku SBU zatrzymała informatora podczas działań kontrwywrotowych w obwodzie donieckim.
Biorąc pod uwagę jego współpracę w śledztwie, sąd skazał go na 12 lat więzienia.

Is it just me or does 12 years feel like fairly lenient sentence for betrayal during wartime and possible responsibility (at least the intent) to cause mass murder?

Man, SBU has a tough job. If the genocidal russians do something right, it is that they do a good job planting russians in the homes of the locals that they murder or displace. It makes it very hard to reclaim your homeland because you’ll always have traitors loyal to the kremlin living among the population. Romanias Eastern half of Moldova has this same problem today. I know everyone wants to be progressive and act like they want to include every culture and people livong within specific borders, but the russians living in ukraine are the biggest issue ukraine is dealing with in this war against russia.
