There are a lot of Syrians who went to Germany seeking asylum, while in Syria they were torturing citizens. I hope all of those criminals get caught and held accountable.
I’m glad these people couldn’t just scurry away and return to their lives as if nothing happened.
If you are a criminal, just come to Germany. We have extremely luxurious prisons and extremely short sentences for even the most vile crimes. You either get out after less than 20 years or get your prison cell upgraded to an even more luxurious one.
As usual, our officials don’t understand what kind of incentives they are creating. If you are a war criminal of a failing government, then your best choice is to get to Germany.

There’s another court case that started today, in this case it’s a [German citizen that decided to join the IS](https://www.rtl.de/cms/hamburg-prozessauftakt-gegen-mutmassliche-is-rueckkehrerin-ihr-sohn-13-sollte-fuer-islamischen-staat-kaempfen-4899361.html) and is on trial for war crimes among other things.
