This is not anything new. Trump has been saying this more-or-less continually, trying to get things in front of SCOTUS because he believe his appointees “owe” him and will rule in his favor. Thats why the filings on his behalf are so lame – the intent is not to have a valid legal argument, but just to be an excuse for the court to rule in his favor with a rubber stamp.
He and his tribe truely believe that the court justices work for them.

My dad’s almost 90 years old. He’s been a member of the GOP forever. When I asked him why the GOP thinks it was okay to have fake electors he said they were trying to win. He didn’t want to acknowledge how the GOP would react if the Dems tried the same game.
The lack of apathy is a feature with the GOP and their leadership knows it.
