I’m increasingly concerned that the vote won’t really matter because if Trump loses we will get a repeat of fake electors and a disruption to the certification process in 2024. When that happens Johnson sets the rules and the SC is pretty much already a servant of Trump.
Ultimately, we will get 2000 all over again (for those that don’t think this is plausible).
Why is Liz still in the news? She had her 15 minutes of fame – after years of extolling the virtues of the Mango Mussolini. I really don’t care what she thinks.

The reinvention, or attempt to “white” wash Liz’s history and reputation is comical to those that dig below even the most veneer surface. Bottom line is she came from a moneyed and powerful political family, with that comes her hubris. She thought she could take down this psychopathic forever stain on American democracy, she lost, she can’t believe she lost and now she’s pissed, she’s the same as Chris Christie, picking the least awful is hardly a choice in this matter. While I respect both of the two aforementioned for bucking the St. Donald trend, none of these are remotely good people, none of them are doing it for anything close to the right reasons. Choosing between dog shit, cat shit, and horse shit is not a decision I want to make, and we shouldn’t have to.

Is there any serious concern about a civil war in the US? I thought January 6th was the end of something but now I’m not so sure. If Trump loses—or is kept off the ballot—is the MAGA crowd going to go quietly?

Cheney refuses to admit her part in priming the base to accept an authoritarian as the leader of our nation. She and her peers convinced these people that a dictatorship is better than a democracy if they get to impose their religious beliefs.
And she will do it again as long as she thinks she will gain something from it. None of these people spoke up while it was happening. They waited until they were out of office. They would all allow it to happen again

As an outsider looking in, I’ll just say I’ve seen this show before in countries all across the world. If Trump gets in, he’s going to try to be dictator for life. The US Right will try to back him. The US military will have to make a decision. To succeed he’ll have to do what he’s been daydreaming about and imprison his political opponents and crackdown on opposition activists.
This happens across the world with a depressing regularity, but people assume it just happens in third world banana republics and it couldn’t possibly happen in the western world, particularly in the Anglosphere. If Trump gets in, it will happen, I have absolutely no doubt about it. The one saving grace is that he personally is an idiot, but even then the people behind him aren’t.
I can honestly see Trump getting in, trying to play dictator and the US slowly disintegrating. It sounds like fantasy but the risk of that is far more real than anyone would probably like to think.
People better listen to Liz…. talk to your friends… get them registered to vote if needed… get people out… vote blue!
