  1. It seriously drives me crazy that the bins are overflowing in this country, the streets are dirty and there’s not enough police and he’s spending time talking about these international issues that have no effect on us. Get the basic right first.

  2. The current Israeli government’s days are numbered, because the security breach on 7th Oct was so unforgivable. And Smotrich is a fringe minister who doesn’t represent policy anyway. This is like an Israeli government minister losing it over something Ross Greer has said in the UK – except that they wouldn’t bother.

If he sincerely wants to take an interest, Humza could always urge Hamas to release the hostages and thus speed up an end to this awful war. Yet again he doesn’t bother mentioning the hostages or Hamas’s use of rape which *is* a war crime.

  3. It’s amazing. Lots of people were praising him when his family were stuck in Gaza, but the moment they got out, shit reverted to the usual toxic bile.

Looked at the twitter link from Sky a wee while ago, and it was nothing but racist bile or crap like “he should be focusing on Scotland”, like taking a minute here and there to talk about a conflict that personally affects him is going to cause Scotland to collapse. (at least the mods here can keep the former out)

I can’t say I’m a huge fan of Humza. God knows I’ve written to him enough when he was health sec about the abysmal state of my local NHS and the responses I got were piss weak (basically “nothing to do with me”) but on this particular topic I can’t fault him. If I had family this close to any conflict, had a public platform I’d be commenting on it too, never mind the moral imperative, especially when there is a clear void of empathy being shown by other party leaders.
