What is the reason Germany refuses to provide these?
Maybe the Germans aren’t confident in the Taurus capabilities! It would be very embarrassing if the turned out to be not as good as storm shadow LOL.
The most bad thing about this is the lack of communication by the government, in particular the chancellor.
We know reasons why not to send Taurus, first one being not giving Russia any insight in the capabilities of this weapon in case Germany would use them under the umbrella of NATO article 5.
On the other hand side, gaining information on combat performance of the Taurus system could help further developing the weapon with Taurus 2.0 in mind…
Definitely no easy decision to make, I don’t entitle myself to weigh all the variables involved correctly here… but we in the West have to come to the point where governments not only realize what is at stake here but also where they act accordingly. And by acting I mean commitment, not just „do this and a little of that“… the latter would just be a waste of resources.
I also believe that Ukraine should have as much ammunition as they need.
That would only be fair.
