Oppenheimer was pretty successful on its own. So, I don’t think ‘Barbie’ saved the industry. It had a great run though.
I thought I wouldn’t be hearing about this movie anyone once it finally came out 😪. Only reason it did so well was because they spent as much on advertising as they did on the movie.
Is Barbie a good movie? Sure. MINDLESS FUN. SILLINESS. A good way to spend a couple hours. I enjoyed it. It’s fun.
But is it on the level of the Godfather or Lawrence of Arabia or the Shawshank Redemption?
Not even close.
That’s how low the bar was for “top movies” in 2023.

But I was told Taylor Swift saved theaters?
