It seems like North Korea just wants the U.S. to step in and make a deal for more aid. But that’s my uneducated opinion.
Because Kim Jung-Un obviously knows (and is not telling his people obviously) that U.S. and South Korea won’t invade North Korea unprovoked, right?

I still stand by that this guy is the worst leader of any country.
Makes his civilians eat grass because they have no other options. Edit- then goes public crying to the women that the countries population is decreasing, so they need more children (which will just starve and have miserable lives)
Wastes government money countless times a year sending missiles into the water to try and be scary.
Punishes parents and children of a criminal for the crime.

North Korea violating a 2018 treaty they promised not to do this.
Russia signing a 2006(?) Embargo as part of the UN not to have weapons deals with NK.
They’re a match made in heaven for not doing what they say.
He’s desperate for a conflict, he needs a war but needs to make it look as if it is an attack from the South, Japan or the US so he antagonises and invites a reaction with his nuke tests etc. A conflict will play out the narrative that the North was always being threatened and NK relies on his existence to survive.
