After 5 broken parts, 1 slit thumb, too much glue and 3 days it’s finished. It’s not painted or perfect in any sense but I did something

  1. Well done. Only one slit thumb is a victory to be sure.

  2. You’re now on a slippery slope, my friend. Before too much longer you’ll have more kits than you have time to build and you’ll start buying more and more paints, because the ones you have are not *quite* the right shade of green.

  3. I got back into this during lockdown after a 25 year hiatus. Try a modern Tamiya kit, won’t be disappointed!

  4. I’m currently trying to find something to kill time with too, I used to build models, but I want something meatier, so I’m looking at buying one of those diy rc cars, they’re not too pricey, maybe look at those for the next step if you’re still looking

  5. next one you do paint the parts when they are on the jigs then get a sharp knife to take them off. then you only got to touch up after gluing.

  6. Maybe you should some join us in the totally non addictive and very cheap game we call The Hobby http://www.warhammer.com ….. join us……join us…..join us…. We have cake

  7. I can’t believe the Tamaya Sand Scorcher RC buggy kit i lusted after as a14yo is now £350

  8. Nice! Quick tip, depending the part, you can paint them whilst still connected to at least one sprue.. and will only need a touch up once glued… it can make it easier and result in a nicer model.

  9. That’s a good job there, way to go.

Wanted to mention that the picture of the box shows a left hand drive model, but yours wound up right handed. During construction, was a choice given? Or is the picture merely a suggestion?

  10. Try to get one, build it, move to the next. Otherwise you’ll have an attic full of sets you’ll one day get around to.
