Inside the burning Japan Airlines flight

All passengers and crew were evacuated from the flight after it reportedly collided with a coastguard aircraft at Haneda airport, Tokyo.

The pilot of the smaller aircraft was able to escape, however the remaining crew members are in an unknown condition according to Tokyo Fire Department.

  1. All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the burning plane, the aircraft is only ashes left

  2. unfortunately 5 people on the other plane died. it was a Japan coastguard plane taking supplies to the earthquake area. It is on the local JP news.

  3. Does anyone know how this composite fuselage burned compared with aluminum planes ?? Thank God no one got hurt !

  4. Sounds like the Coast Guard taxied onto the active runway as the JAL was landing. Investigation will determine if the CG PIC or ATC is responsible, but that will take months.
