Any imposition of a border on the island of Ireland will result in a return to the violence of the past.
The small lunatic fringe on the republican side that rejects the GFA will seize upon the opportunity to legitimize their violence.
The first border post, unmanned, will be burned.
It will be replaced with a manned/guarded post, and the poor sod manning it will be shot, and the post burned.
Loyalist paramilitary groups will use this as an excuse to slaughter civilians in Catholic/Nationalist communities in “retaliation”.

Frosty the No Man resigned because he found out the hardest way that the EU could not be threatened into accepting the UK’s position of existing outside of the EUs framework on quality control for food and manufactured goods, workers rights, human rights and any other rights with an EU stamp on them, while at the same time being able to access the EU’s single market. The EU has clearly stated that if the UK Gov triggers Article 16 the UK will loose its trade deal. The USA is refusing to give the UK Gov a trade deal until it is satisfied that they don’t screw up the Good Friday Agreement and that doesn’t look likely any time soon. So, Brexiteer Tuss is done like a kipper before she even starts.
