Is there a resort here somewhere? I went to Barry Island with my grandparents and half brother & sister when I was about 5, and it felt like a Butlins or Pontins type affair.
I was the youngest & there was a disco; my older sister (10) was in charge of us leaving at a certain time and getting back to where we were staying. The people in charge of the disco wouldn’t let us out though because they didn’t want children walking around in the dark on their own; our grandparents absolutely hit the roof because we weren’t back at the time they said, so we weren’t allowed out without them for the rest of the holiday.
Bloody hell, there was a hidden memory that came flooding back.

Does it still smell of piss and chips? Ahh those were the days.
