There’s a lot of harmful misconceptions about renewable energy transition(and feasibility of achieving net-zero by the middle of the century) being spread on this subreddit- eg. “there is not enought minerals for transition”, “it would require more resources than current fossil fuel-based economy”, “there is not enought land for building out renewables”, “we don’t have the technology”, “capital/labour/energy costs will be too hight” etc. Such myths are spread by renewable energy “skeptics”(read- uneducated/misinformed/malicious actors- mostly from r/collapse), and result is the same- increased skepticism, pessimism or disdain towards clean technology and prospects of renewable energy transition, regardless of intent of said actors.
