Was visiting a relative in the hospital recently and the degree of understaffing was scary. And this wasn’t during a strike. The few clinical staff around seemed to be mostly agency nurses who didn’t know who anyone on the ward was and hadn’t read their notes.
I don’t blame the NHS workers for striking as they have a very important role in society and are expected to work long hours whilst making life saving decisions. They are paid the same amount as me(a fast food worker) and really should be paid better, given better hours.
The tories want the NHS to fail so they can sell it off and force the american model on us so we suffer either way.
the strikers dont give a stuff about the health service, they care about their bank balances.
I called my local doctors surgery at 2pm last friday. First time ive called up in years. It was answered and i was told it was the OUT OF HOURS emergency line. Since when is 2pm on a friday out of hours? ffs
It has fallen apart already, people just do not want to accept that. It can be saved but it requires billions, money which people will not want to see spent, and take years to reverse the damage. It will also take some personal responsibility as people will need to live healthier lifestyles to reduce the burden on the NHS. NHS staff were touted as heroes during the pandemic by the government and public alike. We know the government were lying but if the public were sincere then they should be backing the strikes and vote accordingly.
People in A&E are waiting for 6 hours to be seen.

It’s been designed that way. Government don’t want. The donors and the old money MPs don’t use it and don’t understand it. The 13 years of under investment is now too great to catch up.
My prediction is that GPs will all be privatised by 2030. You’ll pay as you go, the same that dentistry is. That is what they want. That is why they just do nothing.
I feel so terrible for NHS workers but at the moment I’m really sick and it’s been fucking exhausting to face a broken system where I was made to feel like a nuisance. I know enough to blame the root cause which is systematic government fuckery but also the cause feels irrelevant when I just need help to make sure I’m not going to get seriously ill.
The NHS is under assault and it’s not by the junior Doctors earning less than shelf stacker at Aldi. Damn this Government and the last….And the one before that and so forth.

That’s what you get for 14 years of ever lower wages.
No party has ever done the NHS any favours…

Whatever they promise, it’s a lie.
