Meh. I don’t think this one deserved it honestly. It’s a film that’s just pretty for prettys sake there’s no real storyline so to speak. Reminds me of howls castle which is quite beautiful but extremely disjointed
I agree with all of the disappointment. I love Miyazaki, but this movie just didn’t have an emotional core. The story felt so slapped together, and you don’t really get to spend a lot of time with any of the side characters long enough to care about them.
Love his films, but they all feel like elaborate contrivances to animate sumptuous meals.
Hard disagree with others. Thought it was his best.
100% a career award, this movie was all over the place and it really feels like people are afraid to admit it’s not that good cause it’s this guy’s last movie
