Had a big pothole outside our house for weeks now. Reported to council 3 times. Someone in the village has put a cone in it and left a message that reads:

“Note to residence living by the pothole. It would have been helpful to other people in the village, and considerate, to place something over this pothole, rather than having someone else having to do it. We’ve just smashed our front wheel to pieces”

  1. I hear there is a cone hotline for people with this sort of condition.

  2. Yes but it’s hardly in keeping with the village’s rustic aesthetic, is it?

  3. Move the cone and put a note on it:

Note to residence living by this cone.
It would have been helpful to other people in the village and considerate to move it out of the way, rather than someone else having to do it, we’ve hit and smashed out front wheel to pieces

  4. Pretty sure sight is one of the requirements for driving

  5. How is road maintenance your problem should they not be angry at the people who did not keep the road in a good state?

  6. Should have left their smashed front wheel over it. A clear warning sign

  7. Dear Bad Driver Neighbour.

Learn to drive, the skill of driving includes being able to spot and avoid hazards.

Please do everyone a favour and surrender your licence, if you can’t spot a pot hole, how can you avoid a child who may wander into the road.

    Best Regards

    Mr / Mrs Traffic Cone

  8. Yep – nice try Village Nazi. my understanding is that’s a council matter – so I wonder if the short sighted driver informed the council before or after they chastised the home owner
