> Two-thirds of PM’s Twitter posts get community-noted in one week
I feel a new pledge in the making.
“Stop the notes”
They should surely label every one as he didn’t win a general election, refuses to call one, has no mandate, has no manifesto, and lost the Tory party popularity contest.
How is this squatter in number 10 getting access to the PM’s twitter account?
On X (f.k.a. Twitter), six of the nine posts by the prime minister had community notes added. This means that readers are noting context omitted in the original post.
The community note states: *The government does not set policies to deal with inflation. The Bank of England does. The fall in inflation in 2023 largely just mirrors the international trend. Tax is not being cut overall, in fact the tax burden continues to rise.*
The note also cites the Bank of England and the Financial Times, in correcting the prime minister’s claim.
At what point will our political class understand that Twitter and social media isn’t actually a positive for their message and just stop posting announcements there?
I think it was a few years ago that celebrities realised Reddit AMAs are not a good idea if you are a twat (c.f. James Corden). How has political PR not caught up?
This “readers added context” thing is one of the best additions to a social media site I’ve seen
imagine being suprised that a lying party gets notes letting the public know that they’re lies
Actually one of the best features that Musk kept and extended to everyone on twitter. [This account](https://twitter.com/cnviolations?lang=en-GB) is pretty good if you wanna see people being shut down by them
Give it a month or so they’ll have their own brand of fact checking website up and running again.
Everything he says is bullsh .. lies through his teeth all the time. Smug btard will see zero effect to him or his family so his decisions reflect that.
Maybe just tag “Lies” after each post and then community undo 1/3rd of them?

For example, Sunak posted on January 4: *[Halve inflation then cut your taxes. That was the plan – we’re sticking to it.](https://twitter.com/RishiSunak/status/1742919101243445492)*
