I’d assume the guy booking it from the foxhole when the tank passes knew what was about to happen.
The guy on the ground right side next to the explosion took the full blast. Probably survived one mine just to be blown up by the BMD crew

Serious question. I’ve noticed a lot of russian vehicles driving into minefields even though they can see previous attempts at getting through failed. Why do they knowingly drive into the mines?
This is also a BMP-2 not a BMD, you can tell by the 6 roadwheels, shape and the drivers/commanders hatch on the left side. Also not to forget the distinct ass of the BMP-1/2.
I didn’t even have to guess where the mine was. A obstructed road that already had one vehicle blow trying to go around to the right. If you didn’t think there was one on the left as well you probably shouldn’t be driving in a war zone.
