  1. Note: This is a proposal that will go to consultation. Nothing has been confirmed yet.

    >The proposals will be detailed in a consultation, one of the first steps in the introduction of a member’s Bill from the Scottish Green’s Mark Ruskell.

  2. Those are horrrifying numbers. I’ve been to the dogs and enjoyed it but if the price of my entertainment is that many injured and dead dogs I’d never go again.

  3. Think I’ve just found the solution for what to do with those spare XL Bullies, we could replace the rabbit thing with a toddler and it’s back to business.

  4. Dunno why now, but I thought greyhound racing had been banned sometime in the late 20th century.

  5. I think the folk who organise these know the writing is on the wall.

Shawfield is being turned into flats and a hotel.

  6. I do think this is a good move, but it’s really hard to swallow they’ll ban this but not killer dogs for pets.

  7. Not really shocked by the numbers, anyone who knows anything about greyhounds knows that it’s roughly the equivalent of sending 6 glass rockets around a track.

Shame it’s a bit of a heritage thing dying out but times move on.

  8. Given it’s down to one track in Scotland and by all accounts it’s on very shaky footing, it’s essentially already banned itself in Scotland. 99% of the rescued ex racers you see here are from England and Ireland.
