Most people know the big ones, Creep Dive, Irish History Podcast yada yada but what are some of the Irish podcasts that ye all love but few people seem to be aware of?
[Sharkfiles](https://www.thesharkfiles.com/about-shark-files) (covers the stories of when sharks and humans collide) would be a prime example of the kind of thing i’m thinking about here.

Was a great RTE Radio 1 podcast about the late Jeff Buckley, his early gigs at a tiny Irish coffee shop in New York and his trip here to play at the Trinity Ball before he became a star in the early 90s. Well worth a listen.

Mens rea is good if you like Irish true crime.
Them Conspiracy Guys is good, if that’s something you’re into. They can be quite long episodes though.
Podclast definitely worth a mention 🙌
Monster Fuzz is worth a shout. Two lads from Wexford talking about Cryptids from around the world.
Shite talk history is hilarious and really well researched
Wide Atlantic Way -about why people believe weird things, looks into cryptids, UFOs and the like
Crime world-Nicola Tallent
Brian and James Fuck Each Other
George Gibney
Candle lit tales is good for mythology. The Almanac of Ireland is pretty interesting too. Shite Talk History. Anything with Tom O’Mahony is pretty funny.
Blúiríní béaloidis (Irish folklore podcast) and the Revolutionary Ireland podcast.
Three castles burning is good if you’re interested in the history of Dublin, the host takes a certain part of the city or a specific subject from the city each episode and explains it’s history in an engaging and interesting way.
Shite Talk is quite good it’s an Irish History podcast with a guy from Carlow and one from Dundalk I believe.
Irish History Podcast with Fin Dwyer is nice too.
Three Castles Burning is excellent and so is Men’s Rea.
Documentaries on 1 is a great library of podcasts you coukd find anything on it from the Irish guy smuggling boxers out of Cuba and taking on Don King.. to the supposed Irish serial killer of the tube in London.
Nicola tallants one called “the witness” is top drawer
I’d really recommend the Irish passport podcast by Naomi O’Leary and Tim McInerney. It’s kind of an irish history/politics podcast that dives into mixture of political and historical topics with great insights and research. They often get on guests who are knowledge on topics they are exploring such as a former army officer when they were looking at Irish neutrality. One of my favourites is where they explore the parellisisms that exist between the colonial rule of ireland and india.
Rebel Matters is great. Host interviews different people, there’s been some great ones , over 100 episodes online. East going chats with interesting people
Have to give a shout-out to the Fireside Podcast. Wonderful look into Irish mythology and folklore. Really well told and interesting, as well as being very easily entertaining and casual. It’s a charming, fascinating time.
Troubles podcast is pretty good. No surprise the subject is the troubles 😅 but the episodes are pretty solid and interesting. Pretty heavy subject obvs
The Witness: in his own words – about a young buy who was groomed into joining a gang in Dublin. Very good listen
Tell me a story with Eddie Lenihen.
Making of a detective is really good
80 days is great fun! Three history and geography nerds talk about a particular place for 2 hours. Very easy listening and entertaining.
Murder Most Irish – it’s very funny!
Three castles burning is a great dublin city podcast.
I host a podcast in which I consider how I would adapt ancient historical events into HBO style narrative shows. I made eight episodes last summer but haven’t had the chance to make more since. It’s called ‘The Historical Motion Picture Organisation’ and should appear on most major podcast platforms. I’m new at podcasting and it certainly won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but it fits your request for a small, barely known Irish made podcast 🎙
