You can see all that for free but have to pay £23 per adult for Stonehenge…
I always make a donation to museums, just to help with the upkeep. Even though most are free to enter..
Manchester especially is great for free museums – Manchester Museum, Museum of Science & Industry, Manchester Art Gallery and the People’s History Museum.
Kinda evens out the fact the National Football Museum is £14
So right! I went on a trip to london this weekend with some family from abroad. Went to the National Gallery and saw Van Gogh’s Sunflowers… like The Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. Incredible. I also so some other amazingly famous and expensive art with my own eyes! And it’s not prints or re-creations, it’s THE PAINTING. Honestly I was in awe.
Then went to the British history museum and saw among most of the world’s treasures; THE Rosetta Stone. The item that unlocked egyption hieroglyphics for humanity.
Incredible weekend! And the free trips far outstripped the paid for trips like the view from the London Eye, and the tour of London Tower.
