No court system to guarantee free and fair election, no electoral committee, no binding obligation to follow constitution, the manipulation of state media, the control of media regulators, the abuse of public funds to support private pro-party media, and lastly, the obvious problem of PiS using state intelligence agencies to spy on democratic politicians.
Honestly, most Poles have zero hope for the next election. It’s going to be a mess and there is almost no way PiS can lose. The cards are all rigged in their favour and they’re also the dealer. An opposition has also struggled to form and PiS have done absolutely everything possible to smear Tusk. He also helped them just recently which doesn’t help.
Next Polish election could be the formal death of Polish democracy.
Let’s hope that doesn’t happen. If it does, then let’s hope EU grows some Lithuanian balls and does something about it.

Hungarian public media and it’s totally not-state-sponsored lackeys are already playing up the narrative that the CIA/Soros/Brussels/Biden/Western corporations is helping the opposition clandestenly and are planning to undermine the election. Various opposition politicans have been outright called CIA agents or lobbysist of foreign corporations, usually based on old, tenous connections (eg the PM candidate have lived in the US and also worked for French electricity company a decade ago => he is their agent).
And these kind of articles, social media posts and commentaries (always ‘just’ plausable implications, opinion pieces, ‘thought-provokers’, what-ifs to avoid liability) are shat out every day – the governement and it’s lackeys are spending euromillions on social media ads. If you don’t use an adblocker, the governement’s ad repeating the same slanderpoints is probably half of all youtube ads for Hungarian viewers. On facebook, if you don’t use a proper extension all of our walls is filled with paid posts coming from an organisation called Megafon – a so-called mouthpiece for “independent conservative thinkers”, who somehow always support every decision of the governement and slander the opposition at every turn, by coincidence using the same vocabulary and so on.
Putin’s army is next to their border not because the Ukraine, they are waiting to defend Orban.
Oh we are still pretending Hungary has just elections ?
And they will do nothing, elections are rigged in Serbia for the past 10 years, and EU is patting Vucic on his back
I think it might be late… the 40% voters somehow get fidesz a ⅔ majority, giving them special constitutional powers to rewrite the laws how they see fit. The only solution is to kick Hungary from the EU (only after I have left)
There are so many ways other than cheating vote counts, that any respectable dictator shouldn’t need to do that.
