Given the seemingly more relaxed attitude that NPHET are taking to Omicron, we could have our max number of 43,000 a day in the next 2 weeks. (PCR test capacity)
As long as the numbers in hospital and ICU stay relatively low I don’t see them changing their attitude.
Looks like hospitalisations may be getting close to peak, and ICU falling yet again, the important stats looking good

Both my teenage kids got it this week as well as almost every single friend of theirs. Many, including my kids have been very sick for 2-3 days (worse than any flu). I expect that over the coming week many parents will start picking it up from their kids and we’ll see hospital numbers rise again.

Any info yet on how it’s affecting the elderly? I have a couple of elderly relatives, fully vaccinated and boosted, and I’m concerned about picking it up and passing it on to them. I hear that omicron is less severe overall, but I’d be interested to know if vaccines and boosters are still protecting the elderly, if any of ye know.
