  16. We will never truly know how maby russias have been killed. Given all that has been seen, 500,000 would not surprise me in the least bit.

    At the end if the day, with russians not wanting to be accurate with their kia, not wanting to retrieve the bodies, or relying on cinerators. We will have estimates and ballpark figures but can’t rely on russia to be at all accurate.

    But the MOD previously said the figures are “plausible”

    This is a complete disaster for Russia and I don’t see a good path for them the rest of this century.

  30. These analysis papers from the British intelligence (at least those released to the public) always seem to really underestimate the Ukrainian army

    When the war started, Ukraine fielded a military force almost as big as Russia’s, all of which was utilised since day 1, while Russia only used a part of its force AND made very severe mistakes in its initial attack. This might have been the first time in ages since Russia fielded less soldiers than its rival.

    With Western support, Ukraine had superiority on the battlefield in numbers and technology, at least for a while. It shouldn’t be surprising that they wrecked such damage on Russia.

    No matter how it ends, Russia is going to come out beaten to a bleeding pulp. Even if it will manage to accomplish all its strategic goals, it will suffer for it greatly

  31. Russia has to face the fact that many countries face… This is the expense to care for wounded veterans. Russian are not prepared to deal with the injured who return, from physical to mental injuries, and this will be an albatross upon Russia for decades, and they will have gained nothing for their acts and efforts.

    All they will get is Putin playing “strong man oligarchy”, at the expense of people in both Russia and Ukraine.

    Putin is a relic from the past, the Soviet Block will NEVER be recreated and Russia will never be a power greater than NATO. Putin can’t face that truth, because he’s living in the past. As the injuries mount and the death accumulate and that falls back upon the Russian citizens, Putin will not be able to contain their discontent.

    2024 may well see the demise of Putin and his Regime, he can’t imprison an kill off all the Russian people that likely will find their ways to rise up in 2024. Nothing can hide the death and disabilities of people sons, as they come back in caskets, and disabled, and some who will never come back. No amount of propaganda can cover that up.

    War has many casualties, including all the kids that will grow up fatherless, and others who will be thrust into dire poverty, trying to cover medical needs of injured men returning. None of these soldiers are immune to PTSD and many other issues that result from War.

    China can’t really help Russia as much as Russia may think, China has an aging population an its still has well over 500 million people who are at or below poverty. Industrial competition is now coming from all of S.E. Asian countries and India, and Western Countries are trying to recreate and restart industry on their own soil, because their people need to work.

    Putin did not look at the Big Picture, he acted as if everything would stay the same, but reality is, the World changed…. and it keeps on changing.

    North Korea makes all the saber rattling fuss, but its living on assistance from China and Russia and that will begin to decline along with challenge that mount internally in Russia as well as China is trying to figure out how to rebalance itself and regain it footing. The arrogance of N. Korea is bought and pumped up by Russia and China, but that too has the limits to how much backing they can and will give if N. Korea does something overtly stupid.

    Unfortunately, with assistance drying up for Ukraine, I doubt they will make it till the end of 2024

    I worry about a world war that is completely not worth it.
