    The NHS is in a worse condition. Public transport is worse. Education is worse. Pay has fallen behind inflation, house prices and rents. The police are worse off, as are the armed services. Brexit has damaged the UK economy.

    Sunak’s solution: tax cuts for the rich.

  9. We’ve built a system that needs evermore younger workers and demands continued growth. We are worse off due to mismanagement but it is a problem everywhere. The whole capitalist system is creaking as it comes against the realities of endless growth on a finite world. Be it climate change, resources depletion or demographics we are in for interesting times.

Now we learn that a MILLION additional deaths could be attributed to austerity. That instead of taking the interest free money of 2010-2020 & using that to invest in the country and improve the place, the tories shafted is and the British KEPT on voting for them.

  17. Humans have such short memories…

    I remember my dad asking me why he should work when he was only £60 better off working 40 hours a week than if he didn’t work at all, and then telling him because it is the morally right thing to do.

    I remember competing for a minimum wage admin job and despite the employer telling me they’d love to offer me the job, they had another candidate with 20 years experience, to which I questioned why they would even be looking for a minimum wage job and having to agree with the employer that I would hire the other candidate in his place too.

    Fast-forward to today and my family is in a far better position than it was whereby we can choose what to spend our money on instead of being forced to miss out on certain things. The Tories might be an utter tripe of a shit show, but I’ll never be forgetting the state that Labour left this country in either.

    If only there was a viable party out there that prioritised the hard-working individuals, SME’s and our best public servants instead of the lazy and workshy or big business and the elites…

Even if you don’t blame the Conservatives but instead place the blame squarely on Covid, the war in Ukraine, the ‘fact’ that Brexit wasn’t implemented properly and the last Labour government, and even if your personal situation is better *surely, surely, surely* you can still acknowledge that the country as a whole is in a worse state than 13 years ago.     Northern Powerhouse didn’t happen because it’s the Tories and they hate the North, except at election time.
