I can see a lot more people moving over to the ‘cash is king’ camp if bank accounts are frozen and even taken from.
Edit: I realise I’m being downvoted to hell on this but it seems most people are forgetting there is alot of cash heavy industries in Ireland. Nearly every weekend people are complaining about taxis not taking cards, barbers, hairdressers, building industry, takeaways, builders, electricians, plumbers…
There will have to be mandatory DNA testing at birth if they are going to go down that route.
Surely since the woman can opt out with an abortion now the man should be able to do the same..
They’ll take your money in the interests of the children, they’ll even pay for legal team to obstruct access, and you’ll pay for that too out of your taxes. Then with what you’ve left, you’ll pay a solicitor for access and when it’s all granted you’ll be denied by the mother and start at go again. All in the best interests of the child
Sounds reasonable to me.
It’s like the American system which is working extremely well.
People shouldn’t have to support children they never wanted in the first place

This isn’t news and is more of the minister pretending to do her job. It already happens fairly regularly in the family courts for men who don’t pay child maintenance.
It’s called an “Attachment of Earnings Order” and makes the father’s employer make payment directly to the mother’s bank account for the maintenance amount.
Fairly easy to get as well if the father is not paying their way
Also, compulsory mediation is utterly pointless. Anyone who has been through the family courts knows mediation is pointless if it’s already at the point of being in the family courts.

So will the dead beat mothers who withhold the kids seeing their father have funds withheld?
They need to expand this to criminal convictions when it comes to fines and compensation.

Withholding access to a parent is child abuse. We need to end the monopoly of women in the courts.
